The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has launched the National Integrity Awards Scheme on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, describing the initiative as a major step towards promoting honesty, accountability and ethical leadership across Ghana.
The awards scheme, launched under the theme “Promoting Integrity, Celebrating Ethical Leadership and Inspiring National Development,” is designed to recognise individuals and institutions that have demonstrated exceptional integrity, transparency and ethical leadership in their work and service to the nation.
Speaking at the launch, Mr Bagbin said integrity must remain at the heart of Ghana’s development agenda, stressing that strong ethical values are essential for building credible and accountable public institutions.
He urged Ghanaians to uphold the principles of honesty and accountability in their daily lives and to support efforts aimed at strengthening transparency and good governance.
According to the Speaker, the National Integrity Awards Scheme will not only celebrate outstanding contributions to ethical leadership but also encourage a culture of integrity that inspires confidence in public institutions and drives national development.
The initiative seeks to strengthen public trust, promote responsible leadership and recognise individuals and organisations whose commitment to integrity is helping shape a more accountable and prosperous Ghana.
