Businessman Engr. Kwame Adu-Mante Enters Politics; Rumoured To Contest Kwesimintsim Parliamentary Election

Renowned businessman and Chief Executive Officer of Focus One Group, Engr. Kwame Adu-Mante, is rumored to be considering a bid for the Kwesimintsim Constituency parliamentary seat in the Western Region.

The entrepreneur, who is widely regarded as a media business giant and owner of the Focus 1 Media Group brands including Spice FM, Beach FM (Takoradi) and Orange FM (Kumasi), made his political ambition known this week, signaling a major shift from boardroom to ballot box.

Mr. Adu Mante, who was previously adjudged the best entrepreneur promoting youth development and capacity building of Ghanaians, is expected to bring his vast business and youth empowerment experience to the political front.

Born and bred in Dichemso and Ashtown in Kumasi, but who honed his entrepreneurial skills in Takoradi after gaining admission to Takoradi Technical University, he has built a strong base in the Western Region through job creation, philanthropy and media development.

He recently donated GH¢100,000 to support the Western Region's first ICU project.

Sources close to the businessman say his decision is motivated by a desire to champion business-friendly policies and youth development, a cause he has long advocated for, urging the youth to seek policies that would help unearth and nurture their potentials.

Kwesimintsim is a constituency represented in the Parliament of Ghana and located in the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipality of the Western Region.

The seat is currently held by Philip Fiifi Buckman of the NDC, who secured a decisive victory in the 2024 elections.

More details on his political party and official filing are expected to be announced in the coming days.
