Solomon Owusu blasts Godfred Dame over handling of MASLOC case

Communications Director of the United Party and Political commentator Solomon Owusu has launched a scathing attack on former Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame, following the acquittal of former MASLOC CEO Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu by the Court of Appeal.

Speaking on Joy Prime after the court's decision, Owusu described the prosecution of the case as "a total waste of our time."

He argued that the judgment revealed fundamental flaws in how the case was handled.

"When you go into the judgment, there was no substance, no clarity," he said.

Owusu noted that while Tamakloe-Attionu faced serious charges, including causing financial loss to the state, stealing, conspiracy to steal, and improper use of public property, the state failed to prove its case convincingly.

"The mere fact that we know people have stolen, if you are doing a case, make sure you do a watertight case so that nobody gets away with that," he stated.

Directing his criticism at the former Attorney-General, he added: "Godfred Dame was a total waste of our time," describing him as "ineffective, inefficient and incompetent."

Owusu further called for a closer examination of the Court of Appeal's ruling, saying the conclusions reached warrant further judicial review.
