Enyonam Manye Takes Ghanaian Farmer Story to Norway to Study World-Class Fish Farming

Award-winning Ghanaian journalist and host of The Ghanaian Farmer, Gifty Hodey Manye, popularly known as Enyonam Manye, has earned a fully sponsored invitation to Norway to explore and document the country's world-renowned aquaculture systems.

What started six years ago as a television show has grown into one of Ghana's most influential agricultural media brands. Through The Ghanaian Farmer channel, Enyonam has built a vibrant community that reaches Ghanaians at home and in the diaspora, as well as international audiences interested in African agribusiness.

Her consistency in telling purpose-driven, impactful agricultural stories has now opened another global door.

From November 1 to 9, 2026, Enyonam will be in Norway on a learning and documentation tour facilitated by the Norwegian Veterinary Institute. The visit will give her first-hand exposure to Norway's modern aquaculture practices, innovations and food production systems, which she will showcase to Ghanaian audiences across her platforms.

The tour builds on the long-standing collaboration between Ghana and Norway under the Norwegian-funded Fish for Development project, which ran from 2018 to 2025. It is also expected to strengthen knowledge-sharing and lay groundwork for deeper cooperation under the upcoming Oceans for Development Programme.

Enyonam is no stranger to field storytelling. She has travelled the length and breadth of Ghana featuring farmers, innovators and agro-processing facilities, and regularly hosts online webinars that bring together youth from across Africa.

"I don't just believe in agriculture, I'm building wealth with it, inspiring generations through it, and making it a true symbol of power and prosperity," she said.

Through her work, she has consistently championed youth participation in agribusiness as a practical solution to unemployment and food insecurity, while also creating livelihood opportunities for her own team.

Her agricultural storytelling has previously taken her to Senegal, Turkey, Russia and Rwanda.

Today, The Ghanaian Farmer community has grown to over 236,000 followers on Facebook, 29,600 on X, 28,600 on TikTok and 87,500 subscribers on YouTube, with more than 10 million views.
