Media accreditation now open for Ghana’s 2027 AFCON qualifier against Somalia

Applications for media accreditation to cover Ghana’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Somalia at Essipong Sports Stadium are now open.

Journalists and photographers wishing to attend the match must submit their applications by email to pr@sportsauthority.gov.gh no later than 5:00 pm GMT on Monday, November 9, 2026.

Each application must include a recent passport-sized photograph. Applications without the required photograph will not be considered, and submissions received after the deadline will not be accepted.

Only shortlisted applicants will receive accreditation for the match, with the media tribune at Essipong Sports Stadium able to accommodate 150 journalists.

The list of successful applicants is expected to be published on Tuesday, November 9, 2026.

Successful applicants will be able to collect their accreditation tags from either the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Secretariat at the Accra Sports Stadium or the National Sports Authority (NSA) Secretariat at Essipong Sports Stadium.

Media personnel based in Accra can collect their tags from the SWAG Secretariat on Wednesday, November 10, 2026, between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Applicants from the Western Region and nearby areas will instead be able to collect their accreditation tags from the NSA Secretariat at Essipong on the same day, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

The accreditation arrangements have been issued by GFA Communications, with the limited capacity of the media tribune meaning that applications will be subject to shortlisting.
