Samuel Kojo Brace Sparks Ahanta West Parliamentary Bid Rumours With New Post

A subtle social media post by Ghanaian journalist and broadcaster Samuel Kojo Brace has set tongues wagging in political circles, particularly in the Western Region.

The broadcaster, who is currently with JoyNews, a subsidiary of the Multimedia Group in Accra, shared an artwork on Wednesday that many are interpreting as a soft launch into active politics.

The artwork, which has since gained traction online, features a stylized sketch of Brace in a suit and tie against a dominant blue background. Bold inscriptions on the image read: "Anticipate... A WALK WITH THE AHANTA PELE" with a footer that says "AHANTA PELE 2028 ON ALL SOCIALS".

What has caught the attention of many political watchers is the colour scheme of the artwork - blue, white and red - which embodies the brand colours of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The timing and the phrase "Ahanta Pele" - a moniker he is known by due to his Ahanta heritage - has led to widespread speculation.

Several social media users and followers from Ahanta West, the constituency where he hails from, are deducing that the journalist could be lacing his boots to contest the parliamentary seat for Ahanta West in the 2028 general elections.

Ahanta West, located in the Western Region, is one of the keenly contested seats in the region.

While the flyer does not explicitly mention politics, a political party, or a parliamentary ambition, the choice of words - "A Walk" - suggests a community engagement or documentary-style project, but the addition of "2028" - an election year in Ghana - has fueled the political interpretation.

As of the time of filing this report, Samuel Kojo Brace has not officially commented on the artwork nor declared any intention to contest for any political position.

His post remains captioned simply with anticipation, leaving room for speculation.

If confirmed, he would join a growing list of Ghanaian journalists who have transitioned from the newsroom to the political frontline.

All eyes will now be on his social media pages for the full reveal of what "A Walk With The Ahanta Pele" truly entails.
