The Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan, Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, has announced the commissioning of the new Nketseiakrom Electoral Area Health Centre, describing it as a major step towards improving access to quality healthcare in the constituency.
In a post shared on social media, Dr. Ayensu-Danquah said the new facility replaces an old CHPS compound which was operating under deplorable conditions.
"There was a time when accessing healthcare in Nketseiakrom meant enduring conditions that no community should have to accept. The old CHPS compound was far from the standard of care our people deserved. Healthcare delivery took place in a cramped, poorly ventilated, one-room rented container that became unbearably hot, especially during the day," she wrote.
According to her, health workers at the old facility had to work under difficult conditions due to severely limited space and inadequate facilities, despite their dedication.
She noted that the commissioning of the modern health centre marks a transformation for the community, bringing dignity and efficiency to healthcare delivery.
"What once represented the limitations of healthcare delivery in the community has given way to a new, modern health facility built to serve the people with greater dignity, comfort, and efficiency," she stated.
Dr. Ayensu-Danquah added that the new health centre represents more than just infrastructure.
"This facility represents more than bricks, roofing sheets, and painted walls. It represents hope for mothers, reassurance for parents, dignity for the elderly, and a brighter future for generations yet unborn," she said.
She indicated that the facility will provide health workers with a more suitable environment to deliver services, while giving residents renewed confidence that their health and well-being matter.
"Today, Nketseiakrom turns a new page. A chapter marked by improved infrastructure, renewed hope, and a stronger foundation for healthcare delivery," she added.
She also expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for his commitment towards healthcare delivery in Ghana.
